A Recap of Summer Camp 2011

Little Artists Camp brought parents and their 4-6 year-olds together for art-making - they blasted off to other galaxies, and dug down into the depths of the sea. The fun spread through paint, molding materials, cut-paper collage and much more.

Kids Camp: Kids ages 7 to 13 rocked the arts this past summer at GoggleWorks under the instruction of our own studio artists. They explored the wonders of our Photography Darkroom, crafted impressive works in the Fused Glass Studio, let loose with their creative inclinations in Mixed Media and Fiber Arts, and got their hands dirty in the great tradition of Ceramics.

Specialty Camps: Some of our Kids Camp artists spent their afternoons with one of GoggleWorks´ partners in the most unique Summer Camps in Berks County: GoggleZone and GoggleWoods. Our GoggleZone campers swam, ice skated, hit the indoor turf field, and conquered the hardwood court, all at Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex. Then, our GoggleWoods campers explored the environment, swam, rode horseback, and faced the new zip line at the top of the climbing wall at South Mountain YMCA.

Teen Artists Camp: Artists aged 14-17 completed intensive week-long sessions in their studio of choice: Flameworking, Glass Fusing, Ceramics, Film Photography, Digital Arts, Sculpture, or Drawing & Painting. Some participated to embrace a new medium, others came to hone their skills. Whichever reason brought them here, we applaud our Teen campers for engaging the Arts
in the Summer season and wish them well with their artistic pursuits.

For 8 weeks, GoggleWorks invited campers to explore near and far, high and low, this past summer as they enhanced their creative talents and artistic skills. From the edges of the universe to their own hometown and even into the world of their imaginations, campers discovered fresh and inspiring ideas to influence artistic creation!
