Policies and FAQ

Summer Camp Policies

Please read the following information carefully. If you have any questions regarding these policies, please call 610-374-4600 or e-mail summercamp@goggleworks.org.

Artwork Pickup: Due to the nature of the materials, ceramic and glass projects require additional time for finishing. Most of these artworks will be sent home on Friday of camp. Otherwise, your child will bring home a slip with a pick up date for his or her projects.

Camper Safety: Students under the age of 13 must be signed in and out each day of camp by an adult that is listed on the Camper Information Form.

Cancellations: GoggleWorks reserves the right to cancel a camp based on insufficient enrollment. Registered students in such a camp will either not be charged or will be issued a refund.

Refunds: GoggleWorks issues refunds for cancellations made by students up to 10 days before the start of camp, minus a $30 administrative fee. Course fees for cancellations made by students after that date are not refundable. It is the student’s responsibility to attend the camp for which he or she has enrolled. There are no refunds for camps that have not been attended. Students may not make up a missed camp during another camp. If you are ineligible for a refund but have not attended any sessions of the camp, you may request an acknowledgement from GoggleWorks Program Department, which will enable you to claim your unused tuition as a tax-deductible contribution.

By registering your child in a camp, you signify that you have read and agree to GoggleWorks´ Summer Camp policies.

Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What age groups are camps designed for?
A: We have a variety of camps designed for ages 4-17. Each camp is broken down into appropriate age groups. Little Artist Camp includes children ages 4-6. Kids Camps have age groups 7-10 and 11-13. The Teen Artist Camps cover ages 14-17.

Q: What will my child do each day?
A: Schedules vary from camp to camp. A diverse group of instructors teach a variety of art media throughout the three months of camps. Every week will have different activities in many mediums revolving around the theme. It is not guaranteed that a camper will experience every medium offered at GoggleWorks, however all campers will get to experience numerous art forms through which they can express their creativity.

Q: What do the camp themes mean?
A: Themes are given to each camp to generate camper ideas for art-making, and to brighten camps with fun content. Teachers apply the theme to projects being as appropriate.

Q: What is the difference between Kids Camps and Specialty Camps?
Kids camps are half or full day art camps that all take place at GoggleWorks facility. Specialty Camps are full day camps that spend a half day in the arts at GoggleWorks then spend the second half of the day at a separate facility experiencing additional activities. These camps are available to children ages 7-13.

Q: Do you have extended care available?
A: We offer extended care every week during summer camp, in the morning from 8-9am, and in the afternoon from 4-5pm. Pre-registration is required and is handled per week.

Q: My child made ceramics and glass pieces during their camp. When will we be able to take the pieces home?
A: Your child will bring home Pick-Up Slips for their artwork during camp and the artwork will be ready by the date written on those forms (blue slips are for Ceramics, green slips are for Glass). Please bring these slips with you when you retrieve your child´s work from the respective Studio. GoggleWorks requires up to four weeks to properly complete and fire all work for a particular camp. Please make it a point to bring your pick-up slips with you when you get artwork; this will prevent you from having to make multiple trips to get all of your child´s artwork.

Q: What credentials do you require of your camp staff, instructors and volunteers?
A: GoggleWorks requires that all camp staff, instructors, and volunteers have a record of their Pennsylvania Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances on file in our administrative office. Our instructors are either professional artists or arts educators. Our camp staff members and volunteers enjoy working with children and have a passion for the arts and for this community.

Q: Are scholarships available for camps?
GoggleWorks does have limited scholarships funds available for camps. Interested applicants must complete the Scholarship Application with all required documents to be eligible for a scholarship. A separate application must be submitted for each child and for each program. Applicants will be notified by the Programs Department if awarded a scholarship.
