Specifically created for the young developing artist, these camps provide thorough exploration of various arts disciplines offered at GoggleWorks. Teens will create beautiful artwork in the medium of his/her choice. Through the guided expertise of practicing artist teachers, teen artists will see first-hand what it is like to work in a studio environment. The following week-long intensive studios provide an opportunity to hone teens? creativity and heighten artistic awareness while also building a portfolio. By instructing students during high school and offering tips for success after graduating, these camps will provide direction for the next generation of artists.

Tuition: $180 per camp | Family Discount: $162 | Supply Fees included.

Ceramics
Learn to create beautiful pottery by developing wheel-throwing and hand-building skills. Teens are taught innovative techniques and classic styles in our large ceramics studio. Create a decorative bowl, colorful vase or use your imagination to make something truly unique. Finish multiple functional and decorative ceramic works throughout the week under the guidance of professional art educators. Camp size is limited to 10 students.

June 25-29, 1-4pm (TC1201) | July 23-27, 1-4pm (TC1204)


Film Photography
Learn what it takes to be a professional photographer! Students will photograph a variety of subjects and learn to process his/her own film in a professional photography studio. From the basics of paper exposure to the advanced lesson of photo manipulation, students will learn many useful techniques and concepts. Out-of-class shooting assignments will provide students with an opportunity to photograph various elements in and around GoggleWorks? campus. At the completion of the week-long camp, students will take a variety of work with them that shows their creative ?eye? for art. Students must supply their own SLR film. Several cameras are available to borrow from GoggleWorks with a $45 security deposit. Camp size is limited to 8 students.

August 6-10, 1-4pm (TC1208)


Fused Glass
Learn how to cut and layer colored sheets of glass to create beautiful art pieces such as bowls, coasters and jewelry. While learning from a glass master, students will create a variety of decorative and functional art. Plan, design and assemble images and patterns. Show the world how you view color and glass. From specialized tools to a glass kiln, teens will learn how cut pieces of glass fuse to create one piece of art. Once you know the basics, the possibilities are endless.

Metal with Glass Flameworking
Heighten your artistic style with one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry you create from glass and metal. Bending, cutting and fusing metal, copper and brass is just a small piece of what you will learn to do in our studio. Under the guidance of the instructor, teens are taught how to shape glass using a torch to create beads and small sculptures. Be the envy of your friends when they see the wondrous charms and trinkets that you made. Instructor will thoroughly address safety, tool care and use. Camp size is limited to 8 students.

Painting and Drawing
All artists need a good foundation in drawing. Open new doors to all art mediums by learning and understanding the basic form of drawing. From traditional areas of instruction with pencil and ink to using graphite, chalk and charcoal, students will leave with a higher appreciation of art and the talent it takes to create it. Enhance your knowledge of composition, shading, design perspective and content. Our instructors take that love for doodling and build on it to teach teens how to create more in-depth and involved artwork.

Graphic Design
Do you dream of creating the type of designs you see in the world of digital art? We have just the camp for you. Spend a week in our Mac Lab under the instruction of a professional graphic designer. Students will learn to merge type and image into visually engaging compositions using the Adobe Creative Suite. At the conclusion of camp, students will leave with professionally printed designs and a wealth of knowledge to take on to future learning. Camp size is limited to 8 students.

July 2-6, 1-4pm (TC1203)& July 30-Aug. 3 9am-12pm(TC1203A)
Camp will be held on July 4th.


Sculpture Sampler in Wood, Wire and Found Objects
Learn to create three-dimensional works of art with various materials. Work in three sculptural formats: two days with wood, two days with wire and one day with found objects. Students will learn how to master the basics of woodworking. Create beautiful pieces of art by bending, wrapping and cutting wire. Learn a variety of different techniques such as additive and reductive sculpting. All aspects of tool care and safety will be addressed by the instructor. Come and create with us! No experience necessary. Camp size is limited to 10 students.
