The Professional Institute for Educators at the University of the Arts

The Professional Institute for Educators at the University of the Arts empowers educators across disciplines to continually advance their teaching skills to improve learning for all students. Through graduate courses, PIE develops innovative and creative educational programming to serve the professional development needs of K-12 teachers in and through the arts. All courses in the PIE program meet University standards and go through a faculty review process. UArts is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, NASAD and NASM. PIE at UArts is an approved provider for PA Act 48 and NJ Professional Development; participants are required to relate course content to their classrooms, which may include lesson plans, critiques, papers or other projects. Courses in the PIE program are offered for credit only and tuition may vary by term.

Join us for ArtsWeek at the GoggleWorks, July 12 - 16

We heard you! You requested more studio time, and here it is. What was called Inspiration, is now ArtsWeek - a one-week intensive studio experience where educators can refine art-making and media-specific skills, explore the application of media into the curriculum, and learn how to engage all students through focused arts experiences.

Studios in: Apple iMovie, Ceramics--Raku, Glass Fusing + Slumping, Intro to Painting + Color Theory, Landscape Painting, and Wood Projects.


Tuition discount for early registration received by Friday, May 28.

NAEA Discount: The National Art Education Association has approved the ArtsWeek programs as part of their Co-Sponsored NAEA Academies for 2010, based on their Goals for Quality Art Education. NAEA members who provide UArts with their member ID number at the time of registration receive a 10% tuition discount (not to be combined with other UArts tuition discounts or scholarships).
