Address: 25 W. 3rd street, ![]() Joel BlessGlasslight studio was founded in 1981 by Joel Bless and Candace Luke-Bless who met as art students at RIT. Joel thought it natural to incorporate glass with light so lighting became their first products. After an evolution of creative processes they developed a method they dubbed “vertical drip casting” and created a totally unique and successful line of menorahs. Candace diverged from hot glass to fuse tiles and tabletops using new and recycled glass. Joel and artist Paul Madsen devised ways to sculpt metal to compliment the glass. Glasslight takes pride in the extraordinary patterns and colors used to create a spectrum of expressions in glass. Recent projects include large chandeliers with multiple glass pieces. Glasslight works are sold at fine galleries throughout the U.S. Joel will be holding demos for both the September and November 2010 glass trail weekends. She opened the Glass Place studio and has been working in glass ever since.
