STUDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR (5/14/2015)

Job Description
The Student Services Coordinator (SSC) is the registrar and primary customer service representative for all GoggleWorks programs and workshop services. The SSC also serves as the housing coordinator for students and faculty engaged in intensive programs. This is a full-time, hands-on position that requires significant initiative and problem-solving skills, as well as an ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
The SSC job includes registering a broad range of of educational arts programs including: classes, workshops, intensives, guided tours, demonstrations, private lessons, and other activities. Evening hours will be required from time-to-time for special program related events. This position reports to the Program Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Registration: Fielding questions about courses and housing, taking and processing registrations and payments
• Web: Oversees Armature class schedules and assists with uploading new content and maintenance of existing content for all programming needs.
• Housing: Coordinating housing arrangements for students and faculty, screening potential housing locations, receiving and processing housing payments
• Billing: Processing and collecting student materials bills
• Events: Maintaining potluck and faculty slide show supplies; assisting with Second Sundays when they involve program oriented receptions/exhibits, presentations, and program promotions.
• Office administration: Maintaining mailing list in database, processing catalog requests, taking and picking up mail, maintaining inventory of art and office supplies
• Other: Providing administrative support as necessary in a small office environment.
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• A passion for and commitment to the visual arts and the GoggleWorks mission
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Highly organized, efficient, and proactive
• Ability to prioritize tasks while working on several projects simultaneously
• Ability to work in an environment with constant interruptions
• Strong familiarity and comfort with websites and website maintenance.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a PC environment; experiences with databases including Armature and QuickBooks a plus

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with experience working in or with visual and crafts artists a plus. Experience working in a customer-service and educational environment a plus. Enthusiasm for working in the cultural arts industry in the greater Reading area in general and a personal commitment to the GoggleWorks in Ward 6 in particular a must.

Qualifications:
• Solid organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
• Experience working directly with multiple departments within an organization.
• Experience in a not-for-profit cultural environment a plus.

• Personally committed to the GoggleWorks mission and purpose.
• A self-starter, who is very organized, detail oriented and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and staff in various departments at various levels in a clear, polite manner.

Compensation
Salary $32-$35,000. After ninety (90) days, health and dental insurance is available provided employee contributes 26% of the respective plans direct costs.

MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER

Position Overview:
GoggleWorks Marketing and Public Relations Manager develops and implements programs which are in line with the organization’s stated strategic goals and objectives. The Marketing Manager works under the direction of the Executive Director in collaboration with internal program staff to motivate successful promotions to a variety of different market segments through social-media, telemarketing/direct mail, advertising, and public relations efforts. The position requires a solid working knowledge of social-media in all of its forms as well as an awareness of current trends and opportunities, the ability to update and format website information on a continuous basis, direct sales and/or customer service experience, a record of success working in organizations, and an appreciation and enthusiasm for GoggleWorks and its mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and maintain consistent brand image of GoggleWorks through the development, production,
  • and distribution of all internal and external communications and promotional materials.
  • Maintain/manage presence on social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.
  • Oversee GoggleWorks web sites in order to insure that they are kept up to date on a daily basis.
  • Oversee production and placement of program advertising in accord with existing budgets, including, but not limited to: newspaper, television, radio, billboard, web, and direct mail.
  • Schedule, write, publish, and distribute GoggleWorks-related news in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets and contacts.
  • Monitor the latest developments in social media tools, trends, and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge.
  • Facilitate and arrange for public relations opportunities.
  • Negotiate media contracts as needed.
  • Work with internal/external partners in developing mutually beneficial promotional opportunities.
  • Write, publish, and motivate dynamic content for GoggleWorks website, that can include, but is not limited to: interviews, audio podcasts (hosting and producing), videos, blog postings, etc.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development, editorial content, and implementation for all promotional brochures, materials, e-Newsletters, e-Blasts, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the programs department to successfully achieve program enrollment goals through marketing initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee the production of all visual and graphic materials created by and for GoggleWorks.
  • Oversee and schedule all GoggleWorks design needs including designer’s weekly work schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with and provide guidance/expertise to staff and special event committees.
  • Cultivate and curate photo and video archives.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of comparable professional experience. Enthusiasm for working in the cultural arts industry in the greater Reading area in general and a personal commitment to the GoggleWorks in Ward 6 in particular a must.

Security Guard

Immediate opening for a part-time security guard; seeking responsible, mature adult. This position for security guard will be for GoggleWorks’ guard booth and for the patrolling of buildings’ interior and exterior.  Will require a great deal of walking and stairs.  Background check will be required.  Reporting directly to Facilities Director.  Hourly pay.

Hours: 4:30-9:30pm

Monday through Friday: Approximately 25 hours per week- may have additional hours as needed for special events.

Part-Time Front Desk Receptionist

GoggleWorks Center for the Arts has an opening for a part-time front desk receptionist. Must enjoy working with the public and have mature work ethics. Requirements include excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently on multiple tasks with scrupulous attention to detail. Computer proficiency is necessary, especially familiarity with MS Word and MS Excel.  Mature work ethics are essential. Must be available able to work weekends. Hourly wage is $8.00.
