Narrative art represents events that take place over time. These events may be revealed in a single image or explored in multiples. Since the first cave paintings, telling stories has been one of our most fundamental communication methods. The form is well suited to psychological self-examination and the investigation of role-playing that is a frequent element of our social interaction. Story telling can depict great moments in history, domestic dramas or the minutia of life. All media are welcome; from painting and sculpture to performance art, installations, and film/video. We invite you to tell the story.

Peter Kinny’s art is a search for the spirit, rather than the letter, of the land; an inner essence of the artist and the earth intertwined. It may
celebrate discovery of materials,  location, flights of imagination, wildlife, personal myth, and more.  Kinny says, “I am inspired by what I see in the landscape, but also by what play, accident, and my imagination can suggest and conjure, as I work, including humor and symbol.”

Kinny received his B.A. from  Syracuse University in 1965, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from New York University in 1974. He was an Instructor in Art at the Haverford School, Haverford, PA, at Moore College of Art, Philadelphia, PA and Philadelphia College of Art, Philadelphia, PA. He has had many solo exhibitions in the Tri-State region. Kinny has been published and reviewed in numerous periodicals and has published works including  “Earth, Moon, and Sun,”  “Sand and Sky,” and Brigid‘s House Writers, “meet me at the birdbath”.
