Handcrafted Home Workshops

Home is a place where we gather with friends and loved ones to laugh, eat, and enjoy life. It is easy to overlook how important it is to surround ourselves with meaningful objects living in an age of mass production. The Handcrafted Home series of workshops are designed for all skill levels to, not only learn a new craft, but to enrich your home with handmade objects that are personal and functional.

Woodworking / Salad Bowl

Bowl-turning is a fun and rewarding way to learn about woodturning or freshen your turning skills. Woodworking / French Rolling Pin

Beginning with a square blank of hardwood, students will learn the fundamentals of woodturning, including safe use of the lathe and lathe tools, turning gouges, and chisels. Learn the basics of letterpress through a hands-on process of printing on a vintage platen press with the Master Printers of Paisley Dog Letterpress. Tour a working-museum/print-shop and discuss the history of printing. Students experience the entire process, from composition (hand-setting and locking-up plates) to printing (inking and pulling the press) while creating coasters, trade work with classmates, and experiment with a variety of techniques and materials.
